A Public Adjuster represents the homeowner in their fight to get the payout they deserve for their insurance claim. They are responsible for inspections, creating the necessary estimate of repairs, and photo report. Public Adjusters also help with your understanding of the policy and how the difference sections apply to your claim.
A Public Adjuster, like the insurance company's adjuster, is trained in identifying loss, working claims from start to finish and negotiating settlements. Public Adjusters represent the homeowner's best interest and work to get the payout you deserve.
There is no simple answer here. Your premiums increase whether you file claims, or not, as you may have already experienced. The reality is that insurance premiums are based on the liability amount, amount insuring, etc. If your property value, local material costs, and labor increases every year, you can count on premiums increasing. If your area has a higher potential of see flooding, storms, wind, hail, or sink holes, your insurance premiums will reflect it. What's important to note is that if you have a valid claim that the insurer is responsible in helping you for, DO NOT hesitate in filing the claim out of fear. You pay premiums to be covered when you are not able to pay for the loss. It is your duty to the mortgage company and as a property owner to protect your home. Protect your investment and do what needs to be done to make sure you don't end up with a larger issue or one you can't handle. We're here to help guide you through the process.
This is actually the first step to our process. We want to make sure that you understand your policy and how the entire process works.
We can't make decisions for you, but traditionally, we recommend working the claim in good faith with the insurer first. We help with organizing the entire process and fight to get it paid in a timely manner without the court delays. Law suits can take 1-2 years and in some cases more. Public Adjuster fees are lower and can be negotiated according to claim complexity. Additionally, Public Adjusters work on contingency without a retainer. No settlement, No fees!
Roofers are experts in replacing your roof and Public Adjusters in getting homeowners paid for the loss. In other words, Public Adjusters get you the money you need to pay the roofer + any additional damages inside the home. Public Adjusters also review your "Duties" as a homeowner to guarantee that you are doing your part (insurance company's deny claims for not complying). Public Adjusters are also licensed by the Department of Financial Services and are the ONLY professionals, besides an attorney, authorized to adjust claims directly with the insurer.
The more documentation we have of the loss, the better your chances. No claim is guaranteed a win.
Answer is, NO! You pay your premiums to have coverage when you need it. The insurers are responsible for paying when there is damage caused by a covered peril.
Public Adjusters usually settle claims within 90 days, if they are approved and do not require additional adjusting (Ex: engineer inspections, appraisal, umpire, etc.). Cases that are DENIED, can be moved to litigation at homeowners discretion. The litigation process is lengthy and requires additional work.
